Firewall and Proxy settings for License Activation/Deactivation/Update

What are the required firewall and proxy settings to allow communication between customer PC with a license container and the licensing backend systems at PTV? 

Answer

Make sure that the PC where the license is located, either in a soft container or on a USB Dongle, is able to reach the URL https://activate.trafficsoftware.ptvgroup.com/ via https;

  • If you use the PTV License Manager for licensing modifications, LicenseManager.exe must be allowed to reach the above URL
  • If you use a Browser and PTV’s Activation Page for licensing modifications, the Browser must be allowed to reach the above URL

 

This is necessary for activation, deactivation and updating of licenses.
