What are the required firewall and proxy settings to allow communication between user computers and the license server?

Answer

  • Make sure that the PC where the license is located, either in a soft container or on a USB Dongle, is able to reach the URL "activate.trafficsoftware.ptcgroup.com". This is necessary for activation and updating of the license.
  • If a floating network license is used, the licensing server must be reachable from the client PC via the port configured in WebAdmin. This port is by default port 22350.

    • When using cloud licenses it is also important that in case when using a proxy, that proxy must not break SSL certificates in any way.
  • When using an academic license, telemetry is mandatory. This means that our telemetry server must also be able to reach the computer where the PTV Vision software runs.
